MakeUp in Paris Marks 3rd Anniversary at the Louvre

This June’s show features an expanded list of exhibitors and two days of conference.

MakeUp in Paris continues on its successful path of highlighting the color cosmetics business—formulation, tools, full service and packaging—as it prepares for its third show in Paris, at the Carrousel de Louvre, June 21-22.

Additional floor space has been added to accommodate a growing list of participants. In 2012, MakeUp in Paris will host more than

70 exhibitors, a 25% increase over 2011. Newcomers this year include:

Cantoni Trading, Chemicos, Cosmogen, Elipso, FS Korea, Gutberlet GmbH, ICC Srl, Kum GmbH, Lumson, Marbella, Mobius Ruppert Kg, Orlandi, Oxygen Development, Pibiplast, Reindustria, Pollo della Cosmesi, Rusi Cosmetic GmbH, SGD, Sincoplas, SLG Beauty and Texen. Nearly 2,000 visitors—including professionals from the formulation and packaging industry; and members of marketing, procurement and development teams from global cosmetics brands—gathered for the event in the aisles of the Carrousel du Louvre last year, and attendance is expected to reach well past that for the 2012 edition

Almost half of last year’s attendees took advantage of MakeUp in Paris’s strong educational program. To meet this demand, 12 conferences have been organized this year. Key among them are sessions featuring Comité Français de la Couleur; Jean Claude Beguine brand; and makeup artists such as Damien Dufresne and Max Herlant. Several themes will address the makeup sector and mass distribution, packaging innovation, and the training of tomorrow’s creators and manufacturers in the industry. Several U.S. and Brazilian makeup industry professionals will participate in a special roundtable.

In addition to exhibits and sessions, MakeUp in Paris also functions as somewhat of a laboratory and development stage where makeup artists, technicians and trend setters join together to creatively demonstrate products and applications in areas throughout the exhibit floor.

First-Time Innovation Awards

New this year, will be the MakeUp in Paris Innovation Awards, presented in the categories of Packaging, Formulation, Samples and Full-Service. A jury will select the most innovative products, which will then be displayed in a dedicated area of the show. The public will then have the chance to vote for the winners in the four categories. The jury will also hand out a Special Jury Award that will reward a particularly innovative global approach.
